Allow better usage of control points in this package which just do the minimum in SilverEfex compared to control points in other packages. Update with more templates to choose from for B&W conversion. Also allow color changes other than RGB in the control point settings.ī) SilverEfex: Remove automatic additional noise settings for some of the templates (which the user has to remove manually by sliding the film grain slider in one full direction). This would avoid the setting of a bunch of "negative" control points when changing or adding color into a given shape. I am using NIK for many years now in CS6, and my suggestions for improvement are the following:Ī) Viveza: allow non circular control points and control point shapes which the user can draw in the photo instead. It is a lazy, or time constrained person's tool. So, Nik has functionality, but rarely provides ideal results. I use it to provide cellphone level portrait processing in Color Effex Pro.

I use it quite a bit for non critical work. I'm guessing your saying that what they provide can be accomplished in Photoshop, or through some other means and with a better result. lets see, unfounded prognostications don't do anything but confuse. Hopefully many of its older issues will be resolved such as scalability which I agree whole heartedly. I have written them several times and the last time they indicated they are working on the problem they inherited when they bought Nik. I bought the Nik although I had a complete set because I have a 4K monitor and when I go from LR to PS to Nik, I get about a 2 sized font nearly completely illegible. I continue to depend on V1 for much, or most, of every image I print. If the tools remember my last settings I may be inclined to pay. If I had a choice I would have the rework the lousy UI before adding new functionality. Never touch Viveza, once in a blue moon Dfine, and occasionally Siver Efex. I already use at most half a dozen of the filters - Pro contrast, Sunlight, Soft focus, and very sparingly Detail extractor, Tonal contrast, and Dark contrast. Not sure what additional functionality they can add that would make me want to pay for v2. Hopefully they actually add some functionality this time.
